Conservative Animal Welfare Foundation was founded as a grassroots movement in 2016, and as such receives no Government funding. We rely on donations to drive our campaigns forward.

By donating, you are directly funding our work to affect change. Specifically, you will:

  • Help protect farm animals from suffering and cruelty. We work with our network of Parliamentarians to protect animals from cruelty by promoting legislation that safeguards animal welfare. We use our voice to speak out against the use of cages for laying hens, farrowing crates for sows, and the practice of live animal exports for fattening and slaughter – all of which involve a great deal of animal suffering.
  • Promote sustainable agriculture. We advocate for practices which allow animals to live in natural environments and exhibit natural behaviours. By supporting CAWF, you can help promote sustainable agriculture practices that prioritise animal welfare, and which can have a positive impact on the environment, as well as animal health and wellbeing.
  • Support education and awareness. We work to raise awareness of farm animal welfare issues among policymakers and the public. Indeed, one of our key asks is for animal welfare to be incorporated into the national curriculum. By donating to CAWF, you can help support our aim to educate decision makers and the public, and raise awareness of the cruel practices still in use.

We have a strong record of impacting legislation – from the establishment of the Animal Welfare (Sentience) Act, to assisting Private Members Bills on ending cages for laying hens, strengthening sentencing for animal cruelty, and more. Almost half of our 30 recommendations for the 2019 Manifesto were adopted or explored by the Conservative Party either through policy commitments or Bills.

Day in day out, we make the case to those in power that farm animals matter. We hold several parliamentary events and publish a number of report every year, but all of this requires financial support. We hope you will consider making a donation -however big or small- to support our work. And don’t forget to sign up to our quarterly newsletter so you can stay up to date on our progress!

We rely on volunteers and donations from the public to lead our campaigns forward.
