London, 6th May 2023

Conservative Animal Welfare Foundation is delighted to welcome the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III. Today we join the millions of people across the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth in celebrating this special occasion.

We would like to pay tribute to His Majesty’s decades-long dedication to the preservation of our natural environment and his advocacy for organic, higher welfare farming methods. We note that in his 2010 book ‘Harmony: A New Way of Looking at Our World’, he used the opportunity to voice his objection to the “mechanistic thinking” of factory farming.

We also applaud his recent decision to end the consumption of foie gras at royal residences and opt for cruelty free oil in his Coronation ceremony. In doing so His Majesty has set a global precedent for generations to come.

On behalf of the whole Conservative Animal Welfare Foundation team, we wish King Charles, the Prince and Princess of Wales, and their family a joyous day.
