Animal Welfare (Livestock Exports) Bill passes through Parliament

The Conservative Animal Welfare Foundation (CAWF) is delighted the Animal Welfare (Livestock Exports) Bill has passed its Third Reading in the House of Lords.

This follows the Bill passing its Report Stage on 8th May in the House of Lords and Committee Stage on 14th March, having already passed all of its stages in the House of Commons.

Animal Welfare (Livestock Exports) Bill passes Report Stage

Today (Wednesday 8th May) Conservative Animal Welfare Foundation (CAWF) is delighted the Animal Welfare (Livestock Exports) Bill has passed its Report Stage in the House of Lords.

This follows the Bill passing its Committee Stage in the House of Lords on 14th March and having passed all its stages in the House of Commons after receiving widespread MP support across parties.

Conservative Animal Welfare Foundation joins leading charities and NGOs to call for provisions of the Kept Animals Bill to be delivered

Yesterday (Wednesday 18th October) – Conservative Animal Welfare Foundation (CAWF) was pleased to join a coalition of leading charities and NGOs including Compassion in World Farming (CIWF), Humane Society International UK (HSI/UK) and RSPCA for a joint parliamentary reception hosted by former Secretary of State for Defra George Eustice MP.

Opposition Day Debate calls for return of the Kept Animals Bill

Today (Wednesday 21st June) an Opposition Day Debate has taken place in the House of Commons, which called for the return of the Animal Welfare (Kept Animals) Bill. This was organised following a statement by the Minister for Farming and Rural Affairs the Rt Hon. Mark Spencer MP on 25th May which confirmed the Government has made the decision to discontinue the passage of the Bill.
