“The Conservative Animal Welfare Foundation is deeply saddened by the death of Her Majesty The Queen, Elizabeth II. We join the millions of people across the United Kingdom and around the globe in mourning her passing.

Her Majesty has been a bedrock of stability through some of history’s most significant events over the last seventy years. We would like to pay tribute to the lifetime of service she has given to our nation, having reigned for longer than any other Monarch in British history.

As Head of State, she has been a pillar of British diplomacy; meeting hundreds of international leaders and appointing 15 British Prime Ministers. Her Majesty’s unwavering sense of duty and dedication has rightly earned her unparalleled respect across the world.

We are reminded of her particular fondness of animals, namely horses, and her Pembroke Welsh corgis, of which she owned more than 30 during her life. Her Majesty had links with over 600 charities, associations, professional bodies, and public service organisations, covering issues including wildlife conservation and the environment.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Royal Family at this difficult time.”

Chris and Lorraine Platt, Co-Founders of the Conservative Animal Welfare Foundation
