Today (Thursday 8th September) the Conservative Animal Welfare Foundation (CAWF) has welcomed the announcement from Leader of the House of Commons Penny Mordaunt MP that the Animal Welfare (Kept Animals) Bill will return to Parliament for its Report Stage on Monday 19th September.
The Government has recently published their response to the call for evidence on labelling for animal welfare. The findings were very encouraging and certainly a clear step in the right direction towards making choosing higher welfare meat products easier for consumers.
Yesterday (Wednesday 7th September) the Conservative Animal Welfare Foundation (CAWF) welcomed the appointment of Ranil Jayawardena MP by new Leader of the Conservative Party and Prime Minister the Rt Hon. Liz Truss MP.

Recently Conservative Party leadership contender Liz Truss tweeted, “We need to prove to people who voted for us in 2019 that we can deliver what we promised in our Conservative Manifesto.” This is welcome. In fact, both Liz Truss and Rishi Sunak have repeatedly declared they will honour the 2019 Manifesto.
